State of Byte-Size Impressions

Hey everyone! This is a very informal post, so please don’t mind its casual nature. I’ve been shifting gears to focus on Byte-Size Impressions / Cinema more than ever, and that includes everything that goes along with it. Figured I’d let you all know what’s in the pipeline!

I’ve upgrade my PC this year, which means I’m able to focus on streaming and growing a community on Twitch. A second monitor has been integrated so I can keep an eye on chat, so make sure you drop by, say hello and we’ll see where the conversation takes us! My ultimate goal is to have that platform grow, so be sure to throw a ‘follow’ my way if you like the stream. And by the way, I understand how important following a schedule on Twitch is, so I’m working on nailing one down. For the time being, your best bet is to look at twitch.tv/bytesizeimpressions 8pm EST each day. Sometimes I’m on earlier, but typically no later than that. Tuesdays and Fridays are a lock, since they’re new game release dates and probably the most important. But once my schedule is finalized, I’ll put it on my Twitch page and advertise it @bytesizeimp on Twitter. If my schedule happens to change, I’ll let you guys know on social media.

I’ve been working on a more consistent flow of written pieces, so be sure to keep your eyes glued to bytesizeimpressions.com for takes on popular video games, editorials, and more!

Speaking of consistency, I know the podcast has suffered. There’s a couple reasons for this:

One, the time just wasn’t there. I had spent the last couple of years doing a lot of writing for Minecraft and Fortnite magazines, as well as a book which I can’t yet talk about (and is coming out later this year). Also, 2018 was generally rough, and 2019 has proven to be difficult in its own right, despite only being a quarter of the way through it.

Secondly, technology has proven to be a major hurdle. We lost a pretty massive E3 2018 podcast due to YouTube/Google Hangouts issues (and there were no problems on our end, as the stream went fine while we recorded). We also sat down for a ‘best of 2018’ podcast, which was also pretty length, at the beginning of 2019. I tested the audio beforehand, but for some reason, levels between my voice and the voices of my co-hosts were massively different after the fact, making the podcast unlistenable. I’m researching the best options for recording, and my goal is to make sure we do at least one a month from here on out.

Anyway, I’ve really been enjoying my time on social media. I’m always on twitter and chatting with you guys and commenting on the latest video game industry news. I try to be positive – key word TRY – and would love to get to know more of you better! Come interact with me there, and I’ll also be using that account to post all the new content and let you know when my streams are going live!

Well, that’s pretty much it. Hope to see you around!
